These guides provide insights into typical advising needs at different points in time, both within a single year and at different stages between orientation and graduation.  By understanding the nature of different steps along the academic path, students can make best use of the resources provided by the Academic Advising Program.

All Students - a month-by-month guide to advising related events in any academic year
Newly Admitted Students - From acceptance until start of first semester (first-year and transfers).
Transfer Students - completed college coursework after high school, but prior to UNC.
First Year Students - entering directly after high school, regardless of placement or transfer credits.
Sophomore Students - third semester or beyond with 30-59 credit hours.
Junior Students - 60-89 credit hours.
Senior Students - 90 plus credit hours.
Graduating Seniors - final semester; applying for graduation, senior underloads, links to campus commencement information.
