Resources for students faced with challenges due to medical and psychological issues and personal difficulties.

The Academic Success Program for Students with LD and ADHD, and Accessibility Resources & Service provide services, accommodations, and tools for students with documented disabilities. Please contact these offices for more information about eligibility.

Campus Health Services (CHS) offers wellness and preventative care, care for injury, acute or chronic medical conditions, consultation, and medical testing to the UNC student community.

Counseling and Pyschological Services (CAPS) offers two kinds of services to students. The department’s psychological/counseling services include individual, couples, and group therapy, urgent consultation and crisis intervention, and medication evaluation/management. Its wellness services provide education and health promotion programs in the areas of fitness and nutrition, alcohol and substance use, stress management, and sexual behavior.  CAPS is open for drop-ins for first-time counseling appointments on Monday through Friday from 9 AM until 12 noon and 1PM – 4 PM. Many other opportunities for health, wellness and life balance are offered through CAPS, and detailed information is available on the CAPS website.  CAPS is open from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday.
