What I enjoy most about working with students:
I love learning about the ideas and interests that students are most excited about and helping you pursue them further–whether that means showing you a course or organization on campus that you didn’t know about or a research opportunity or career path you didn’t know existed, or giving you the tools to start a research project, or just helping you figure out how to submit a transfer credit re-evaluation or find the Writing Center.
My hometown:
Amherst, MAFirst job out of college:
English Professor
Lowest grade I got as an undergrad:
): As a junior, I turned in an essay so bad that my professor wrote a note at the top saying it did not even qualify for an “F”. That essay became the basis for my Ph.D. dissertation, 7 years later!
If I didn’t work for Advising I would:
Work for the Natural Resource Defense Council or train horses!
Bucket list item:
I’m not really a bucket list kind of person. Anything involving family and friends, a hike or a fireplace, a few books and no internet is good with me!
