For Questions During Your Registration Period: Our academic advisors are available to you during your registration period for any registration related questions. Our support hours are from 9:30 am-5 pm on Day 1 of your Registration Period and 8 am-2 pm on Day 2. You will have two different ways to connect with an advisor:
Registration Online Chat- This feature is great for general registration questions. Please note that this is not a secure system, so please do not share any personal information. You will be able to find the link to chat with an advisor on our website on the bottom right of the homepage.
Phone- Our Registration Support Hotline is 919-238-6333. This hotline will connect you directly to an advisor that will be able to discuss your schedule, troubleshoot any registration issues, and help you through your first registration.
Additional Resources- While we attempt to answer every phone call in a timely manner, we also anticipate heavy call volumes especially from 10 am-1 pm on Day 1 of Registration. While you wait for your call to be answered, feel free to visit our other resources.
Other Resources:
Class of 2023 Sakai Site- Students can request to join the Sakai Site for Class of 2023 at https://sakai.unc.edu/portal/site/classof2023. It has information to make sure your shopping cart is ready to go, frequently asked questions, registration tips and troubleshooting, and information about what to do if courses are closed. Having trouble joining? How-to-Find-the-Class-of-2023-Sakai-site.pdf will provide instructions on how to access the site.
Advising Chat- This feature is available here on our website on Monday-Friday from 4-5pm and Wednesdays from 10-11 am. This feature is perfect for general questions, but since it is not secure, we cannot answer personal questions.
New Student Guide- Your New Student Guide has plenty of resources from MATH and Foreign Language Placement information to Suggested Beginning Courses to courses that will fulfill certain General Education requirements. This is a great place to go if you would like a refresher from Orientation or if you are looking for additional courses to add to your shopping cart or schedule.
Undergraduate Catalog– The Undergraduate Catalog is a great resource to find official information about Carolina academics. You can search different majors and minors to find out requirements, read course descriptions, and learn more about UNC policies and procedures.
Admissions– If you have questions about AP, IB, or other test credit, you will be able to find that information on the Admissions website.
Registrar- The Registrar’s Office is the best resource for dates, how to registrar, and additional registration FAQs. For a link to videos on how to register and search for classes on Connect Carolina, click here.
