The Academic Advising Program in the College of Arts & Sciences and the General College would like to welcome you to the University of North Carolina!

We want to take this opportunity to introduce you to the Academic Advising Program here at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill.

From orientation to graduation we are here to guide undergraduates in the College of Arts & Sciences and the General College on their academic path. We serve current and returning students including all first-year and sophomore students as well as juniors and seniors with majors in the College of Arts & Sciences. Our goal is to assist students with all aspects of their academic planning while providing a foundation for appropriate academic decisions throughout their undergraduate studies.

All students at the University are assigned an academic advisor prior to beginning their first semester at UNC.  We work closely with the Academic Support Program for Student-Athletes to enhance the academic advising experience for our student-athletes.  Student-athletes will meet regularly with both departments and will possess a working knowledge of the services provided by each.

Once on campus, students will have the opportunity to meet with both their academic counselor (Academic Support Program for Student-Athletes) as well as their Academic Advisor in the Academic Advising Program. We will also meet with you during your time at New Student Orientation as part of the standard Day 1 program.
