Email

You may email your assigned advisor if you have a quick question for them. Your assigned advisor is listed in your Student Center in ConnectCarolina, and advisor contact information is in our directory. Please be sure to include your PID and legal name in your email message. Email responses may be delayed during busy times such as registration periods and the first week of classes.

If you have a very general question, you may email the advising@unc.edu inbox, which is monitored daily by a member of the administrative staff team.

Phone

Call the UNC Advising office to speak with an administrative staff member regarding general questions and urgent situations, Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm (except University Holidays). Main number: (919) 966-5116.

Call your advisor using the number provided in our directory with specific questions. Keep in mind that advisors are often busy meeting with students during the day, so you will likely need to leave a voicemail. Be sure to include your name, PID, and phone number when leaving a voicemail.

Phone appointments are available through the online scheduling system. If your advisor does not answer, it is best to leave a voicemail as they may be wrapping up a previous appointment. If you still cannot get in contact, call the UNC Advising office and an administrative staff member will assist.
